Trash and Recycling Guidelines for Game Trail

We have 4 trash containers on the right side of the Trash/Recycling Center. It is a requirement that all trash (not recycling) be put into bags to prevent scattering when the service trucks pick up.

Chaffee Green recycling service is a single-stream system, meaning all recyclable materials can be deposited into the same container.  We have 4 yellow-topped recycling containers.  Several of the recycling containers have sliding doors on the back to assist those who struggle with the height of the container’s lids.  They will be dumped once per week.

Following the recycling rules is critical so that we use our limited space wisely and so that we do not incur any fines from the recycling company. Below is a list of items that are and are not accepted:

  • No plastic bags can be put in the recycling containers. This means that any recycled materials are placed in the container loose and unbagged, or in a paper bag. Plastic bags jam the recycling system’s equipment, causing damage and steep fines.
  • Cardboard boxes must be crushed and broken down.  If you choose not to do this, please throw them in the regular trash containers.

Thank you for your support with the single-stream recycling program.  The success of our recycling program is solely in our hands as Game Trail residents.  Please help to inform residents, guests and renters who may not have received this email or the recycling list.  From all of the volunteers on the Commons Committee and GTA Board, we appreciate your help in supporting responsible recycling in Game Trail.
